Job Summary:
The Software Quality Engineer is responsible for quality assurance and testing of software applications developed for surgical planning and intra-operative guidance of spinal procedures, including completing software development life cycle documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- As part of a cross-functional development team of developers, engineers, regulatory/quality affairs and surgeon advisors, develop, write and review software life cycle deliverables, including product backlog/requirements specifications, sprint plans, risk analyses and traceability documentation
- Plan and execute functional black box and white box, GUI, integration, system and regression tests
- Develop and execute formal software test/validation plans and protocols
- Track and triage software defects
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field
- 3+ years experience in software quality assurance
- Excellent technical writing as well as verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and great attention to detail
- Familiarity with FDA regulated software development life cycle processes, including Agile methods, and associated deliverables
- Knowledge of software testing and validation methods at all levels
- Ability to understand use cases and application usage scenarios for planning and execution of software testing
- Programming experience a plus
